Circles of Eight Dinner Groups

Would you like to get to know your fellow church members on a more personal level? Circles of Eight dinner groups offer the perfect opportunity.
  • Each group consists of about eight people (married and single)
  • meet once a month for four months in each other’s homes
  • Each month a different participant from the group hosts the dinner
  • The host supplies the entrée and all other members of the group bring a side dish or dessert to share
One of the Marks of Discipleship that our congregation strives for is to be in relationships with other believers that will encourage spiritual growth. Sharing fellowship through meals in each other’s homes has proven to be a great way of creating friendships within our church family. New members and old members alike are welcome and encouraged to participate.

  • Sign-up in August for the September–December session
  • Sign-up sheets are on the table in the Narthex or sign up on your Count-Me-In in the Sunday worship bulletin
  • Fall and spring sign-ups
  • choose to participate in just one or both sessions during the year

In each new session in which you participate, you are placed in a different group of eight people. This allows you to continually get to know a larger number of your fellow church members.
Please contact Melinda Mitford at 817-424-3227 with any questions
Men's Breakfast

All men from the congregation (and sometimes the women too) are welcome to a monthly men's breakfast on Saturday morning. There is hot, cooked meal and the subject for discussion varies from Bible study to community service projects.
Annual night at the Ballpark
Once each spring or summer there is a group that goes to to see the Rangers play at the Ballpark in Arlington. What would a trip to the ballpark be without a potluck tailgate dinner?
Annual Church Picnic You don't want to miss the annual picnic. It used to be called "The Spring Picnic" however, we began holding it at different times of the year. Sometimes it is on the shores of Lake Grapevine and sometimes in one of the many beautiful parks. Lots of good food, fun & games for all the children. You don't want to miss it! View some of the photos below!
Potlucks
What would a church be without a potluck? These may occur at anytime. One thing for sure is that there is always plenty of great food at the church potluck!
G.I.F.T. (Growing In Faith Together)
Wednesday night children may take part in four activities:
  • Choir practice
  • dinner
  • recreation
  • a special event. The special event will change each week; some events that we plan are
    • baptismal birthday celebrations
    • arts and crafts with biblical teaching
    • short dramas
    • liturgical dance
    • puppet theater
    • choir parties
    • themed activities for Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter
We have identified three goals for our children in our Wendesday night G.I.F.T. ministry:
  • Provide meaningful fellowship for the K-6th graders
  • Provide ministry opportunities for our 7th and 8th graders and the adults of Living Word
  • Provide consistent supervision for our children on Wednesday night
