The Rock EVENTS (GRADES 7 AND 8)
The Rock (7th and 8th grade) - The Rock meets each Sunday night from 5:20 to 6:50 pm. Each week we have an interactive devotion, games and snacks. There are also special quarterly fellowship events. During these events the youth get a chance to relax and have some fun. These events help the group grow closer together and are a great opportunity to invite friends. During the summer the youth attend a Servant Event and put their faith into action. In addition, there are monthly fellowship/service groups called Cluster Groups. Friends are always welcome and expected at every youth event!
Next meeting is December 10th
Jr. and Sr. High - Mission Trip to Houston, Thursday, December 21st through Saturday 23rd. We will be staying at a local church and helping with the recovery after Hurricane Harvey.
Jr. & Sr. High - Main Event, Tuesday, January 2nd 5:45-8pm. The youth will be headed to Main Event for another great night of fun and fellowship. There is no costand we will meet at Main Event. There will be bowling, dinner, a game of laser tag, and a fun card for the arcade.
Cluster Groups are designed to help youth serve God, get involved in the community and grow together as a group. As an added bonus, there are lots of service hours for college as well!
These groups are made up of Jr. and Sr. high youth, and meet once a month to take part in various project around DFW and have fellowship as well. These groups are led by caring background checked members of LWLC who invest their lives in the youth.
- The first group serves at Woodridge Nursing Home, playing games with and spending time with the residents.
- The second group serves 6-Stones a local organization helping the underprivileged in our area.
- The third group serves at ‘Pregnancy Help 4 U’ in North Richland Hills.
- The final group serves our local police and fire fighters here in Grapevine.
These groups have fixed times they meet, so that participants can build their calendar around the meeting times and attend as often as possible. Also, 3-4 times a year the groups meet for an alternate service project or a purely fellowship event.
These groups are a way for the youth to grow together and build long-lasting relationships that they can carry with them as they work their way through school and post-high school.
Woodridge Nursing Home—Sunday, January 8th, after the late service.
6 stones- This Saturday December 2nd. The youth will be sorting and wrapping gifts for the needy in the community.
Each summer the youth go on a mission trip in the United States, and an international trip as well. These trips are great ways to build relationships and help those who are in need. Most importantly, these trips let participants serve God and spread the Good News of His death and resurrection. (Isaiah 6:8)
