Good morning, and a most blessed Thursday morning to you!

Psalm 111:1

Praise the Lord!

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,

in the company of the upright, in the congregation.

I wanted to begin this devotion with praising the Lord, because really, this devotion is a devotion of gratitude. I woke up on Monday morning and my heart was filled with gratitude. I literally woke up praising the Lord, giving thanks to the Lord for you. I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to learn and grow in faith together, to draw closer to the Lord with one another, to be in mission and be witnesses together. I am so grateful for all of you, my brothers and sisters, that we have been given together a heart for the Lord, and a heart for sharing the Lord. So I just wanted to share a “thank you” with you this morning.

I can't tell you how amazing it is to to get to walk into Living Word Lutheran Church day after day knowing that I get to see you. I get to pray with you. I get to learn from you and grow with you. It is such a great honor to be able to be part of this faith family, part of this faith community.  You are such a blessing. I thank God literally every single day for you, for my my co-workers in the gospel, for the staff and the lay leaders of Living Word. I woke up Monday morning filled with gratitude, and I knew that that I needed to share that with you, because you are a blessing. I pray for you daily that the Lord continues to draw us closer to himself. and continues to use us according to his goodwill and purpose, to his majesty and glory.

So with that, we will praise the Lord. We will give thanks in the presence of the upright of this congregation. And we will turn to him now together in prayer. Let's pray.

Lord, we thank you so much. We thank you, for by your Holy Spirit you call and gather us to worship you, to serve you, to love you, and to work with you according to your will and purpose. We thank you for bringing us into the community of Living Word. We thank you for calling us into faith. We thank you for the brothers and sisters that you have given us, who help, encourage and challenge us to grow closer to you. Lord, we ask that we in turn would be speakers of your truth, that we would be messengers of your goodness, that we would continue to encourage one another to proclaim your Word among the people of Living Word, of DFW and beyond. We thank you so much Lord for your goodness. As your people we lift our praise and our thanks to you, who are worthy of all glory and all honor. We thank you and we praise you Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Have a most wonderful rest of your week. And I am so excited to come together again on Sunday to worship and to glorify His holy name with you my brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen
