Good morning, and a most blessed Thursday to you.
The weather has been wild lately—so much rain, thunder, and lightning. It reminded me of a moment a couple of weeks ago when I was awakened around four in the morning by the sound of thunder. It was so powerful that it shook the entire house. In that moment, my first thought was, Wow, God, You are amazing.
It’s incredible to think how much greater and more vast God is than we could ever imagine. He exists beyond every galaxy, every universe. He is bigger than all He created—sovereign over everything.
Some people are extraordinary abstract thinkers, capable of imagining vast and complex ideas. Yet even the greatest of minds cannot come close to grasping the full greatness of our God. I was reminded of Job and the mightiness of the Lord when He says:
“Gird your loins like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.
Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, so that a flood of waters may cover you?
Can you send forth lightning, that they may go and say to you, ‘Here we are’?
Who has put wisdom in the inward parts or given understanding to the mind?
Who can number the clouds by wisdom?
Or who can tilt the waterskins of the heavens when the dust runs into a mass and the clods cling together?”
We have no real understanding of the full extent of God’s greatness and power. We witness the thunder that shakes our homes, the lightning that lights up the sky, and the downpour that floods the earth—yet this is only a glimpse, a small sampling of His majesty.
As we head into the weekend, I encourage you to pause and ponder the greatness of God. Think about His vastness, His glory, and His overwhelming power.
And yet, in all His grandeur, God loves you. In all His majesty, He entered humanity—taking on flesh and blood—to live among us. He experienced pain, humility, and the temptations of pride and power. Yet He did not fall. He did not exercise His majestic glory for Himself. Instead, He carried a cross and died a suffering death—for your sin and for mine.
That is the greatness of our God. The Almighty—who suffered for us—rose again in power, wisdom, and glory on the third day. We celebrate that victory every Sunday.
And I can’t wait to celebrate it again this Sunday with you.
Heavenly Lord, we thank You.
Thank You that in all Your majesty, might, and glory, You chose to suffer for our sins, to die in our place, and to rise victorious.
We thank You for calling us to Yourself, for allowing us to know You and to know the love You have for us.
We praise You for the promise of eternity in Your glorious presence.
Lord, guide us through the rest of this week.
Open our eyes to see Your beauty around us.
Open our eyes to the people You’ve placed in our lives—those we can love and serve.
Help us to be Your messengers, bearing the good news of life and salvation in Jesus Christ.
We lift this prayer to You in His holy name. Amen.
Have an amazing rest of your week. I look forward to worshiping our mighty Lord with you this Sunday.
God bless.
Pastor Malinak
